Athena aka Midgy (because of her height) is a 7 month Lab mix puppy. She has the Lab face with a short body. The vet said that she looks like she might be mixed with a Daschund because she has the long short body. She is very sweet, loveable, and energetic. She loves other dogs but seems like she is more of the Alpha female. She was adopted through our rescue group when she was 8 weeks old, but was returned due to a divorce. She also guards her food from other dogs so she would need to be fed seperately. Athena is up to date on all of her shots, dewormed, and spayed. Breeze is a gorgeous Pure breed female Husky dog. She is around 4 years old and has the most beautiful blue eyes. Unfortunately, she was used as a puppy mill dog. She does not need to be used for breeding anymore and needs a family who will love and care for her. She is shy and afraid when she first meets you yet shows ZERO signs of aggression. We believe that she was abused at some point because she will cower at times. Otherwise she is loving and GREAT with other dogs. We do not recommend Breeze with younger children who will jump around and frighten her. She is up to date on her shots, dewormed, given a flea treatment, and will either be spayed prior to adoption or come with a spay certificate. Breeze would probably be fine with cats also. She does do the occasional howl (which is adorable). She walks good on the leash and really needs a little time to come out of her shell. Breeze is potty trained along with being crate trained. We would prefer that she has a comfort area such as a crate, even if its left open for her. She has to be zip tied or have a fenced in backyard. Meet Brownie. She is a shepard mix female just under a year old. She is cute, sweet, playful and super soft. She was abused when she was a puppy and is fearful of men. She was previously adopted and was wonderful with her new family, including the 1 year old child. However the living situation was not right for her. Chocolate is a neutered male Pit bull & Lab mix. He is around 1 1/2 to 2 years old and has is full of energy. He is playful and sweet. He is close to 50lbs so he would do best with older children. Chocolate should go to a home without any other male dogs that are bigger than he is. He is NOT good with cats and has a high prey instinct. He listens when being called, is affectionate, and is not a barker! Chocolate was rescued from a kill shelter in NJ. He has become one of our favorites because he is so eager to please! Duke is a nice boy looking for a special home. He was ran over when he was younger and lost one of his rear legs. He tends to get nervous around other dogs because he was previously attacked by a large dog and was severely injured. He seems to be more relaxed around female dogs. Young children also make him very nervous and we feel that he would do best in a home with older children (or no children). He is also very scared of thunder and loud noises. Duke is about 5-6 yrs old and is just hoping to find a place to retire and love out his days in comfort. He is neutered and up to date on his shots. Dusty is a male Lab/Shar Pei mix. He is an owner surrender due to his food aggression towards other animals. He does NOT show food aggression to people. He is around 5 1/2 years old and is fine around kittys although he should be fed by himself. The same goes towards other dogs. He is a great dog besides this ONE issue. Gizmo is a very sweet and tiny teacup Chihuahua who weighs around 4 pounds. His age is estimated to be 4 years old. He was checked on 7/30/10 by the vet because they thought he possibly may have gotten hit by a car on his one side as you can see in the second photo. X-Ray showed that there was no internal injuries, so they are not sure what happened. Gizmo has been tested NEGATIVE for Heart Worms, is up to date on his shots, was treated for tape worms and given regular dewormer, and will be neutered prior to adoption or come with a neuter certificate. He is a cautious little guy so you have to approach him slowly because he doesn't know if you are going to hurt him or not. He is NOT a barker at all, he is very quiet. Gizmo cannot go to a home with small children because they are too hyper for him. He loves to snuggle and cuddle with you! He is potty trained and crate trained. He is such a good boy who you can tell has been through a lot just by looking at him. Meet Jinx! Jinx (or Jinxie) is a 5 1/2 year old Husky-German Shepherd mix who loves running, playing in the snow, fetching, tug of war, snuggling, and of course food! She is looking for a new home where she has room to run and a loyal master. Jinx's Story: Although Jinx was named when originally adopted, it is believed she got her name from her unique feature of one blue eye and one brown eye. Shelly was found sitting on the sidewalk by the local EMS office. She looked pretty lost!! She is a cautious dog who will be your best friend once she realizes that you are nice. She is VERY gentle but is a little fearful when people yell. We think that shey may have been either abused mentally and or physically. She is basically a throw away mom which is really sad because she is very sweet and playful. This is Sugar a lab/pit mix. She is an adult who is apx. 3-4 years old but we are unsure of her exact age. Sugar is a very sweet and calm dog. She should be the only dog in the household because she has been showing some signs of jealousy towards them. She is excellent around kids and she is fine around cats. Sugar was impounded and held at a high kill shelter due to a cruelty case. She was starved almost to death but has made a complete recovery. Teddy is a 2 year old neutered male Chow mix. He is BLIND therefore he is a special needs doggie. He is very sweet and gets around great! He is not afraid to walk around and explore. He most likely would need a zip line or invisible fence. He is not very happy being in a fenced in yard and will try to dig to get out. Teddy is great with other dogs but does not like cats. Thelma is a 4 year old Beagle mix dog who recently gave birth to 11 puppies in which only 2 lucky ones survived. She went through a lot with this birth but has been a great mom. Thelma is very affectionate and loves to lay in bed with you. She is AMAZING with children and would really like to have some around to love on her. Toby is a Pure Breed Red male Dachshund. He is around 7 years old and is a great boy! He LOVES the water and will literally sit in a kiddie pool or tub for hours. He will splash around and try to eat/catch the water. If you have an inground pool you will need to keep a close eye on him because he will jump in. Toby is an owner surrender because he was having issues with his back legs and the owner was told that he would need surgery on his back. Well we looked into and and thought that we were going to have to do that. Luckily after being put on a diet, Toby starting walking fine. He now runs, jumps, and plays like a champ! He has to be kept on a low calorie diet because if not his legs could become temporarily paralyzed again. Toby is a very sweet, affectionate, and loving boy who is fine with other dogs and with cats. He is great with children and loves to play with them. We have all of his vet records and can assure you that he is healthy.
